We are a dance and Pilates studio dedicated to supporting and inspiring every individual who walks through our doors. Rooted in a passion for dance and wellness, we strive to empower individuals of all ages and skill levels through high-quality instruction and a supportive community. Our mission is to cultivate strong, confident dancers and individuals who feel motivated to reach their fullest potential.

Alexys Friol

Alexys Friol, Artistic Director of Studio A

Alexys is the artistic director, choreographer, and Pilates instructor at Studio A Dance and Pilates. She is a dedicated instructor with lifelong training and a passion for movement and performance. With a strong background in competitive dance, she has developed both technical precision and artistic expression, while her certification in Pilates allows her to equally emphasize strength, control, flexibility, and body awareness. Alexys blends these disciplines to create well-rounded, effective, and engaging classes that support both performance and overall wellness. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminology from the University at Buffalo, bringing a deeper understanding of motivation, mindset, and personal growth into her teaching. Alexys is dedicated to fostering a supportive and empowering environment where clients and students can build confidence, strength, and skill.

Classes

Dance Classes

We offer private and group classes, grouped by age and skill level. Studio A’s group classes are reserved for competition-level dancers who have auditioned through The Young Ladies of Grace and Studio A.

  • Private Lessons: Ages 5 and up
  • Group Classes: Ages 12 and up (please head over to The Young Ladies of Grace for 11 and under classes)

Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, and Acro.

Pilates Classes

We offer private and group contemporary mat Pilates classes, grouped by skill level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

  • Private Lessons: 1-on-1, duo, or trio
  • Group Classes: 6 participants maximum
  • Drop-in Pilates available.

Contemporary mat Pilates is a modern approach that builds on Joseph Pilates’ original method while incorporating current research in anatomy, biomechanics, and movement science. It focuses on core strength, flexibility, posture, balance, and overall body awareness through controlled, low-impact exercises performed on a mat. It emphasizes functional movement, proper alignment, and mindful breathing, and is accessible to all fitness levels, body types, and goals.

Attire

  • Ballet: Black leotard, pink or black tights, pink split-sole ballet shoes. May wear a pink or black ballet skirt.
  • Contemporary: No shoes. Tight, non-restrictive athletic wear.
  • Lyrical: Nude footUndeez. Tight, non-restrictive athletic wear.
  • Jazz: Tan or black jazz shoes. Tight, non-restrictive athletic wear.
  • Tap: Black tap shoes. Tight, non-restrictive athletic wear.
  • Acro: No shoes. Tight, non-restrictive athletic wear.
  • Pilates: Barefoot or Pilates grip socks. Tight, non-restrictive athletic wear.

** Hair must be pulled back. No excessive jewelry. **

Tuition

Dance

  • Private Lessons with Miss Lexi: 60 minutes $65 | 45 minutes $50 | 30 minutes $35

Pilates

  • Group Class (6 people maximum, 30 minutes): $15 per class | $90 per month for unlimited classes
  • Dance Parent Special (group class, 30 minutes): $10 per class | $75 per month for unlimited classes
  • Private / Duo / Trio Class (30 minutes): $20 per class

If you have a financial situation, we would be happy to work with you to set up a payment plan. Tuition will not be reduced due to inclement weather or absence from class. A missed class may be made up in an existing class. In the event of a serious illness or injury, the remaining unattended classes will be promptly refunded with written documentation from your doctor.

Policies

As a parent and student at Studio A Dance and Pilates and The Young Ladies of Grace Performing Arts Academy, we will abide by the following policy:

Attire. All students are required to dress in specific attire according to the class they are taking (see the Attire section). No student will be permitted to participate in class if not dressed appropriately.

Behavior

  • Students will respect each other, parents, and instructors at all times.
  • Students must have a positive attitude and do their best.
  • Students are expected to build up classmates using kind and encouraging words.
  • A student will be asked to sit out during class if there is misbehavior. Parents will be notified.
  • Grounds for termination include drug and/or alcohol use, inappropriate social media involvement, bullying, and intentional disrespect toward another student, parent, or instructor.

Studio

  • Studio A and The Young Ladies of Grace reserve the right to accept or deny any prospective student. Parents must disclose if their child has an issue we need to be aware of, including physical limitations, medical issues, and/or mental/emotional needs. We will let you know if we are equipped to handle specific situations.
  • It is at the discretion of Studio A and The Young Ladies of Grace to move a student to a different class at any time during the semester. Parents will be notified.
  • Classes and schedules may vary from semester 1 to semester 2.
  • Studio A and The Young Ladies of Grace will not discuss student situations with anyone other than the involved student and parent.
  • No running or rough-housing in the studio or waiting room.
  • Students are expected to clean up after themselves in the waiting room, studio, and bathroom.
  • Parents will remain in the waiting room during classes and may be invited into the studio occasionally for observation.
  • All students must bring a water bottle to class. We will not supply water.
  • Studio A and The Young Ladies of Grace reserve the right to dismiss a student at any time, at our discretion, with a partial refund.

Cancellations

  • Parents will be notified at least one hour before a class cancellation.
  • Classes canceled due to weather or emergency situations will not be rescheduled or refunded.
  • If a student is unable to attend a class, she may make up the class in an existing class until March 1.
  • If we cancel a class, we will reschedule a make-up class.
  • We do not offer refunds or credits for missed classes; this applies to both group and private classes.
  • Group classes and workshops must have at least 6 students or the class will be canceled.

Tuition

  • A yearly $50 registration/insurance fee per student, or $90 per family, is required at the time of enrollment each year.
  • Tuition is to be paid at the beginning of each semester. Payment options are listed on the Tuition tab.
  • A $25 late fee will be added to your account if tuition is not paid on time.
  • Students with unpaid tuition will not be able to participate in class or in the Recital.
  • In the event of a serious illness or injury, the remaining unattended class tuition will be promptly refunded with written documentation from your doctor.
  • Absolutely no refunds are given to students leaving during a semester.
  • If you begin with one class and decide to switch, you may only do this during the first four weeks of class.
